Global Market Barometer is Reading Non Standard Day?
The Advanced Tech Stack needed to save lives from Covid Launched us too far into the Fuuuuuuture, wat does this mean?
Air Force Gogglesš¤:
When I was getting out of the military, early last year (2021), the training focus was shifting rather radically. It was shifting from the middle east fight to the near-peer focus (think big players, Russia/China). The Next Generation Air Defense fighter (NGAD) was becoming the Air Superiority narrative. I personally, donāt know too much about the NGAD programs (above my pay grade). But, I do know, you win wars with Air Superiority and Air Power. But why does that matter to me, Iām a banker now⦠Personally, some of my best friends, who were also my roommates & classmates are now flying the cool gray, fast, pointy 5th Gen bois. So, it lands fairly close to home for me and I suppose, in a different parallel universe, without 4 cm of my ileum being Crohnās ridden, my mind would still be there prepping for the next flight/fight too, (small tear) but anyways continuing on ā¬ļø
Remote Work:
According to Linkedin, the number of remote jobs pre-pandemic was close to.. 1:77 and now the numbers closer to 1:7 š¤. Okay cool, weāre probably not going back to 1:77 (maybe 1:15ish) mayyyyybe⦠but, I just canāt see a World where we go back to 1:77. As this āDisruptiveā āInnovativeā āTechnologyā progressā itās telling me we arenāt going back to 1:77 jobs being remote.
So, what does that mean? Well, for me it means⦠I better get a Starlink š¤·āāļø
Metaverse:
For the last year I have worked at one of the top ten banks in the World and I have NEVER met anyone that works there (okay⦠I met a few dudes at a happy hour and poker night.. But still!). Let me just go ahead and define that possibility as the āMetaverseā. You can now be sent a laptop and linked up through VPNs just to work in excel and outlook. You can now work at a global-major-financial-institution and never meet anyone who works there. That fact alone is difficult for an older generation to comprehend, and in some capacity itās difficult for me to comprehend. But to the Gen-Z generation below me; they comprehend this narrative extremely well. As Gary V says kids want to be influencers when they grow up. #1 dream job for kids.. influencer. So the future isnāt going back to 9ā5 cubicle work. The next generation will 100% know the Digital World better than I do.
Inflation:
Iām no a financial guru (or grammar nazi for that matter), but the facts are really starting to show.
Inflation at ~7% for a decade or so and I lose all my money (fact āļøme always plz š) so how do I save $$$ dude!? Iām 29 years old, and I would love to start a family, but riddle me this: where do I put my money? Money is the security to put food on my future familyās table. So, as a leader of the āāhouseholdā (whatever animal you are), where do I store the household value?
Do I buy property? Do I go to Ikea to buy a couch like the Russians? Do I put my money under the mattress/piggybank and guard it with my armory and say ācome and takeā? Do I put it in a savings account for 0.06% interest rate? Do I invest in stocks via Roth and 401K? Do I do the 60/40 split? Do I play aggressive and trust the S&P 500? ⦠I mean yeah, sure, maybe I do⦠But, again, Iām 29 and nowās the time to take the calculated āRisk of our Next Gen Fightersā. So I buy some digital assets and ride the volatility of the hedge against a piss poor system thatās not doing so hot right now? Yeah, I take that bet, in the right proportions ofc.
But dude, I donāt know.. But I do know I bought some BTC and ETH a few years back and now Iām playing on house money & I do know that I started staking in some Digital Assets for educational purposes and now itās making me passive income via meme coins⦠š
War:
I had a conversation with this guy that made some great plays post financial crisis (think large company that sold) & dude great on ya. I promise Iāll be one of the first to celly good plays with people that worked hard and built their own luck. But, the conversation got overly balmy after I stated that blockchain technology will change everything you know about the internet. Blockchain protocols will change everything you know about how data is stored and shared; therefore blockchain will change all Finances and Wars and if youāre a BTC maxi you know the exact look I got
But to be fair, I posed this question to a certain generations representation of āsuccessā from societyās eyes. My thoughts are⦠what happens if Ukraine is invaded and the oppressors of said invasion make your storage of value worthless? What if leadership manages our accounting poorly and our currency starts to go to 0? What happens to currencies that are off the GS? What if⦠digital assets become life saving assets in those types of scenarios? The next week after that dinner @Ukraine tweeted this⦠and I got -lucky-.
Never before in human existence could an individual send money across the world at the speed of less than 5s at the cost of a few pennies to aid the oppressed without any government involvement⦠In my mind, admitting my eyes are military tinted, blockchain technology will change everything.
Picture this:
Youāre in your pajamas and you send a few 1000 meme coins to a health worker in Ukraine (for nearly free, with no third party involvement) and then, that health worker, goes and turns those meme coins into tourniquets and other life saving assets.
So again,
To: Whom is in charge
Please tell me how this doesnāt change everything?
